The Greenwood County Treasurer's Office oversees the collection, investment, and disposition of funds on behalf of the County, local Municipalities, School Districts, and Special Tax Districts.

The Treasurer's Office is also responsible for Payroll, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Accounting, Financial Reporting and the Year End Financial Audit.

Local Hospitality Tax

Greenwood County adopted a two (2) percent Local Hospitality Tax that began January 1, 2015 within the unincorporated areas of Greenwood County. The City of Greenwood’s Finance Department collects the revenue generated through the tax on behalf of Greenwood County.

 

The 2% tax affects prepared or modified food and/or beverages intended for immediate consumption. An information sheet is available which will answer most of your questions about what is subject to the hospitality tax. A return must accompany payment, blank forms are available here. If you have questions regarding the Local Hospitality Tax, please contact the Treasurer’s office at (864)942-8528.
